How much does a custom home from Lexiar cost?
Our custom builds typically start around $750,000 and scale based on size, lot, and finish level. Inner-city infills and major renovations vary widely. The honest answer: we can't give a meaningful number without seeing your lot and understanding what you want - but we'll give you a real, itemized estimate before you commit a dollar.
How long does a custom build take?
From signed contract to handover, plan on 10–14 months for a typical custom build, depending on complexity and city approval timelines. We'll give you a detailed schedule before construction starts and update you weekly throughout the build.
Do I need a lot before I contact you?
No. Plenty of our clients start the conversation before they buy. We're happy to evaluate lots you're considering, advise on what's buildable, and connect you with realtors who specialize in inner-city Calgary. Better to involve us early than to inherit the wrong lot.
Do you have an in-house designer or do I bring my own?
Either works. We collaborate regularly with several Calgary architects and interior designers we trust, and we're also happy to work with a designer you already love. What matters is that the right team is around the table early - not bolted on later.
How are change orders handled?
In writing, every time. Any change in scope, materials, or specification gets documented, priced, and approved by you before work proceeds. No surprise invoices, no "we figured you wouldn't mind."
Will I get to choose all the finishes?
Yes - every finish you can see and most of the ones you can't. We provide a selection schedule so decisions are paced through the build, and we'll guide you toward materials that fit your aesthetic, your budget, and the way they'll actually wear over time.
How often will I hear from you during construction?
You'll get a weekly progress update with photos at minimum, plus pre-drywall and final walkthroughs. Outside of that, you have a direct line - text the owner, call the supervisor, ask anything anytime. We don't hide.
What happens after my home is finished?
Move-in is the start of the relationship, not the end. We orient you to all the home's systems, document warranties, and stay reachable for years after handover. Most of our past clients still text us - usually with photos of how they've made the house their own.
Where in Calgary do you build?
We build across Calgary, with deep experience in Bridgeland, Renfrew, Bowness, Crescent Heights, and the surrounding NW/NE inner-city communities. We also take on select builds in the southwest and outlying communities - if it's a good fit, we'll travel.
